Today I have a good news for all bloggers! Recently Blogger has introduces the "Search Preferences" Option,which will help bloggers to make their blogs SEO friendly officially. If you visit Blogger Buzz page then you will get all the information.With using "Search Preferences" option you can edit your Meta Description,404 error page,Custom robots header tags,robots.txt and redirects.We will learn in brief about all this new options below.
Where I Can Find Search Preferences Option?
This option is only Available in New Blogger User Interface
Go to Blogger Dashboard > Setting > Search Preferences.
Now let's see in brief about all of these new options.
META Description
We already discussed in brief about META Tags in earlier post.I will tell you in short - "META Description tag shows a short description about your blog in search results" Note - Meta description will appear only for your homepage link. Your META Description should be short and Max 150 Characters in Length.

Custom Page Not Found
It is also great options.With this option you can add a custom 404 Message.You can also use the HTML tags.Look the images below.

Custom robots.txt
Using this robots.txt option You can Allow or Block the Search Engine Robots to Crawl/Index the pages.Usually every website has a robots.txt. You can access the robots.txt file using the url http://yourblog.blogspot.com/robots.txt

Custom Robots Header Tags
With this option you can set the Robots tags to Home Page, Archive/Label Pages, Post Pages on Crawlers and indexing Section in Search Preference tab.
